Atlantic Outlook

How we handle your information

This page explains what Atlantic Outlook does with the details you give us when you book.

Who we are

Atlantic Outlook, 18 Fir Avenue Bantry Bay 8005. We are responsible for the details you give us on this site.

What we collect

Your name, email address and phone number, your nationality if you choose to give it, anything you type into the requests box, and the details of the booking itself. We ask for nothing else. We also record the internet address your browser connects from, to protect the booking form from automated abuse. This booking site sets no cookies. Videos and maps on an activity page load from YouTube, Vimeo or Google only when you choose to open them. Opening one sends a request, including your device’s internet address, to that service, which may then set its own cookies.

Why we collect it

To run your trip, to reach you if it moves or is cancelled, to send your booking confirmation, and to take your payment. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not sell or share them for anyone else’s use.

Where your details go

Four services process them on our behalf:

Some of these services are outside South Africa, in places whose privacy law provides protection similar to ours.

Your booking link

The link in your confirmation email opens your booking without a password. It does not expire, and it shows your name, email address and phone number to anyone who has it. Treat it as you would a ticket: keep it, and only share it with people in your party.

How long we keep it

At present we keep booking records indefinitely. The law requires us to keep financial records for a minimum period, and we do not currently delete booking details after that period. You can ask us to delete yours at any time; see below.

Your rights, and who to ask

You may ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us at atlanticoutlook@gmail.com and we will respond. Deletion may be limited where the law requires us to keep a record of a booking or a payment. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your details, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za/complaints.
